Newletter 09：SUMMER NEWS: Delfina Foundation, Arte Laguna Prize, Dawn AIR and Bios Monthly interview
On research of Oology.
Dear friends,
This summer, I am conducing my second artist residency in this year at the London-based Delfina Foundation. The Delfina Foundation sits in the core area of London and has a renowned history of 15 years. The artist residency is supported by Ministry of Culture, Taiwan and Delfina Foundation’s network of Asia-Pacific patrons. The session of the year is “Collecting as Practice.” My residency is expected to end on September 19, and my current research revolves around “Oology.”
In spring, I had another residency at the Taitung Dawn Artist Village. Located in Duli, the institution is known for organizing the Taiwan-East-Coast Land Arts Festival, and the residency was matched and supported by Bamboo Curtain Studio. Although the second half of the residency was affected by the unexpected escalation of the pandemic in Taiwan, I was able to complete a series of digital works inspired by and based on the mountains and sea of Taitung.
Early this year, I received the special prize of 15th Arte Laguna Prize in Venice with Angle-Fortune (2016-2017). Next year, after the pandemic subsides, I will embark on a journey into the Amazon rainforest in Brazil and conduct a residency at Labverde in Manaus. The program includes a ten-day expedition into the rainforest joined by scientists, artists, environmentalists, etc.
Finally, I would like to share an interview in Chinese with the online journal Bios Monthly, published in March. In the interview, I shared the current progress of my studios in Berlin and Tainan as well as the relationship between collecting and artwork.

朋友們，
這個夏天我在倫敦戴芬娜基金會進行今年第二輪的駐村。Delfina位於倫敦市核心地段，已有十五年的豐富歷史，此駐村由台灣文化部以及Delfina亞太贊助人聯合支持。今年度的主題為「收藏作為實踐」。我將在此進駐到九月19號，目前的研究方向圍繞著鳥蛋學(Oology)展開。
稍早於春季，我亦到台灣台東的曙光藝術村進行了為期兩個月的駐村。曙光藝術村基地位於台東都歷，以舉辦東海岸大地藝術節聞名，此次進駐為竹圍工作室媒合贊助。雖然駐村後半受台灣突然升級的疫情波及，但最後完成了一系列以台東的山海為素材靈感的數位創作。
在義大利威尼斯舉辦的第十五屆拉古納獎，我以＜角度-運氣＞獲得今年的駐村特別獎，將於明年待疫情緩和之後前往巴西亞馬遜雨林，位於Manaus的Labverde，參與由科學家、藝術家、環保運動者等組成的，深入雨林內部的十天探訪計畫。
最後與中文朋友們分享今年三月Bios Monthly的訪談，內容整合了我位於柏林和台南兩地的工作室實況，以及收藏/收納和創作之間的關係。
